You are obliged to report every accident by phone to the police (110) and to our support – this is a requirement of the insurance company and a fixed part of our T&C. Even accidents involving objects and not involving another traffic member and accidents with no visible damage must be reported.
Important:
- Damage incurred: The assessment of whether damage has actually occurred is the sole responsibility of MILES.
- Violation of the obligation to report: If you do not report your accident to the police & our support, you are in violation of our terms and conditions and a contractual penalty will be incurred in accordance with our price and fee schedule.
- Hit & run is a criminal offense that carries far reaching consequences & legal implications. Your account will be suspended until further notice and will no longer be available for you to use MILES in the future.
The obligation to report also applies in the following cases:
- Accidents that do not involve another member of the traffic.
- Accidents after which no damage can be seen on the MILES or on the opposing vehicle
- Accidents in which you are not at fault
💡 We reserve the right to terminate your subscription early if you fail to comply with the reporting requirement. All relevant details can be found in our terms and conditions.
